He had a for taste for fine wine and dining. He was a member of the Catskill Fly Fishing Club, National Association of Realtors, Livingston Manor Chamber of Commerce, American Legion Lester White Post #566 and Sullivan County Historical Society. He was an active member of this community and one of the founding members of the Livingston Manor Ice Carnival sponsored each year by the Livingston Manor Rotary club where he was past president. He was an avid fly fisherman and had an exceptional fondness for fishing the Willowemoc and Beaverkill Rivers. Martin was an avid gardener and had an exceptional green thumb and enjoyed tending to his small apple orchard. Martin sold property, sometimes several times over to many people including John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Darren McGavin and many other luminaries. In partnership with Jim Farrell they owned Sullivan County Reality and Jim Farrell Insurance. He later became a Real Estate Broker and Insurance Agent. Post WWII, he worked for New York City Water Supply System. For many years he worked with his father in the automotive industry at Schwartz Motors in Liberty, NY. He proudly served our country in the United States Army Air Corp., from 1943-1946. He was the son of the late Abraham (Boom) and Yetta Rosenthal Schwartz, born on Septemin Livingston Manor, NY.Īs a child Marty had horses and unlike any other teens he had his pilot license before his driver's license. "Marty" Schwartz, 91, of Livingston Manor passed away on Wednesday Jat Roscoe Regional Rehab and RHCF, after a short illness. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia. Sally was preceded in death by her husband Casper “Cash” Schwartz son Brian Schwartz father and mother Arnold and Mary Willems sisters Bernadette Plocher and Charlene Eder. Going to coffee with her group of lady friends brought great joy to her life. She loved playing cards, listening to old tyme music, reading the newspaper and flower gardening. Being around her family was of the utmost important part of her life. Sally loved to bake cookies and cinnamon rolls for her family. On JMarcella was united in marriage to Casper H. Marcella was baptized and confirmed at St. Marcella was born on Septemin Cologne the daughter of Arnold and Mary (Tellers) Willems. Visitation 1 hour prior to the Mass at church. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne with Father Martin Shallbetter as celebrant of the Mass. Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday Novemat 10:30 A.M. “Sally” age 83 of Cologne passed away on Sunday Novemat the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.
